Terminal Operating System (CTOS)

CTOS is an advanced, powerful and easy to use terminal operating system, CTOS was developed over the past years using the latest technology and is fully scalable.

The software can be fully customized to your operations and will automate your day to day operations like; vessel, yard and rail management and planning, gate control and administration, equipment management, … The software solution can be implemented for the different types of automated container terminals, all terminals will benefit from the features in the software: planning efficiency, higher crane productivity, increased yard utilization, accurate yard inventory, reducing shifters, real-time planning, real-time monitoring, less human errors, shorter vessel turnaround times, optimizing the terminal flow, …

The berth and track planning is a graphical allocation system, giving you a real-time view of the berths and the tracks. Prior to the arrival of the vessel or train an arrival schedule is created via EDI or manual. Once the arrival schedules are created the graphical view will enable you to update the schedules via a simple drag-and-drop technique. Based on load and discharge information the system will be able to predict the berthing or track position based on driving distance of the container handling equipment. Based on load and discharge information the system will be able to predict the berthing or track position based on driving distance of the container handling equipment.

The yard planning module is an fully automated yard planning tool, using state of the art planning algorithms and user definable planning rules to plan incoming containers with minimal user intervention. Yard equipment control is also part of this module; optimizing algorithms and user definable optimizing rules will ensure that the each instruction will be automatically assigned to best available container handling equipment.

Rail planning module is a state of the art, graphical planning tool for rail. The same drag-and-drop feature to plan are applicable; also a filter will be applied and the rail planner drags the selected containers from the yard to the available wagons. The rail planning module will determine the optimal sequence based on the selected planning parameters. The planning parameters will take total weight, weight distribution, height definitions, nationality of wagon, junction stations, wagon destination, … into account. The planning module will automatically and in real-time create the work queues for the container handling equipment to move the containers to and from the train.

Vessel planning module allows the user to plan manually, use the one-by-one drag-and-drop feature or use the multiple drag-and-drop feature to plan automatically. A selected filter will be applied and the vessel planner drags the selected containers from the yard to the available vessel slots. The planning module will determine the optimal sequence based on the selected planning parameters. The vessel planner has complete flexibility over the vessel planning process. In the vessel planning module he will also assign the quay cranes to the subsequent bays. The planning module will automatically and in real-time create the work queues for the container handling equipment to move the containers to and from the vessels. The vessel planner can create and edit the needed vessel structures. Stability parameters will be taken into account as well as the type and orientation of containers.

Truck operation at the terminal gates is controlled by the Gate Management module. The trucks are processed at the gates for import, export and transit containers. The gate clerk gathers truck, driver and container data and transmits all relevant data into the system. Based on the received information CTOS will perform the necessary validations, trigger respective processes to plan or pick up containers and generate the related instructions.

The Order Management system records all the required container details. The orders can be generated manually, via excel files or by EDI such as BAPLIE, COPRAR, COREOR,… There are many screens available processing and adjusting the container details such as Hold Management, Modify Container Details, Manage Special Services, Record Damages, Record Repair, Interchange Report, Change Vessel for Booking, Modify Shipment Type and many more.

Monitoring is a powerful tool allowing you to follow the real-time productivity of different operations. Swift reactions to unexpected events, like extensive queuing, the breakdown of equipment or slowing down operations are now possible. The Vessel Monitor window displays the productivity figures of all operational vessels with their active cranes and other terminal equipment involved in the operations.

The Billing System will automatically generate invoices by using the defined contracts and handlings collected from the terminal operating system. The system consolidates the information based on commodity, handling type, movement type, activity type, container handling equipment, …

The EDI system enables you to automatically interchange electronic messages with the systems of your business partners. EDI message formats received from your partners are mapped to the in-house file and applied to CTOS. Even if your partner uses private formats mappings can be done if the required information is available.
